Mark & Theresa met at work. They worked at the same company for some time and became good friends. Over the years, their friendship developed into something more and they began dating in February of 2002.

The engagement was a big surprise to Theresa. Mark had planned a weekend getaway for the two of them in NYC. While walking in Central Park on a very brisk Spring day, Mark found a secluded rock for them to sit. Theresa was so preoccupied with her surroundings that she didn't notice Mark reaching in his pocket. She turned toward him and he opened a little black box with a diamond ring inside and then proceeded to propose to Theresa. She said yes!

Theresa's background is Italian/Catholic and Mark's is Brazilian/Jewish. The managed to integrate both faiths into the marriage ceremony which was preformed by both a priest and a rabbi. Traditions from both cultures were incorporated into the reception too. Everything from Sinatra to Bossa Nova was playing all night long.
