Kelly & Michael met at work in the spring of 2003. As they soon realized, Kelly & Michael lived in the same neighborhood in North Brunswick, NJ. They became close, chatting all day long about the minute details of their lives, from the traffic on Route 1, to their favorite television shows, to the important people in their lives. Then, on a Tuesday, after attending a happy hour, Michael stood by Kelly's car, leaned in and asked if she would go out with him on Thursday night. She, of course, said yes and their relationship was born. They began spending most of their days and nights together and soon realized that they had found their soul mates in each other.

About a year and a half later on a Friday in October, Michael took Kelly on a 'surprise' date. They left work and drove to Ruth Chris Steakhouse in Parsippany, where they were seated at table 35. Michael proceeded to sit through the entire dinner, cool as a cucumber, yawning and carrying on about tired he was. And, when the subject of a friend's engagement came up, Michael told Kelly that she should be patient and that their engagement would happen when the time is right and when everything will be perfect. Kelly bought his act, prepared herself to be happy with their beautiful dinner. After the meal, they ordered coffee and tea. The waitress walked over to Kelly and said 'I had an extra one of these in the back - it's on the house.' Kelly looked down to a plate of banana cream pie. On the rim of the plate was written in chocolate syrup, 'Will you marry me?' Michael was down on one knee, holding a ring box open. And when he asked Kelly to marry him, the entire restaurant clapped. The next moments were a blur for them and at some point Kelly asked Michael if she even said yes. Michael had run out to the car for his camera and took so long that people were joking that he had cold feet already. They left the restaurant and checked in the hotel that was attached. Michael had packed a bag for them with their essentials and arranged for champagne, strawberries, and beautiful roses to be in the room. To top it off, Michael had two champagne flutes engraved with their names and the date - October 22, 2004! As Kelly says, their engagement exceeded her wildest imagination. She could not have dreamt of a more thoughtful, romantic or perfect engagement.
