Zena & Jose
Blue Hill at Stone Barns · Pocantico Hills, NY
September 20, 2009

On a casual train ride, Zena never would have thought she would meet her future husband because of a casual glance. With minutes before Jose was about to get off at his stop, Zena gestured him over her way. Despite some anxiety, the two traded numbers and starting dating within a week. After about two years of dating, on Zena's birthday, she was surprised with not only presents, but also a proposal in front of her family. After an excited "yes" Jose and Zena chose the wedding date of September 20, 2009.
The pair's honeybee-themed wedding fit nicely in their choice of reception hall. The centerpieces were a mixture of vines, dahlias, and garden roses all placed in bark-wrapped vases. One table displayed the honeybee cake and a beehive card box, while another showcased the honey-filled jars that were given as favors. Their wedding coordinator, Lisa Scully of Elite Affairs, was a huge part of the wedding process. "I had very limited time to get everything I wanted, but she really rose to the challenge and everything was accomplished," explained Zena

Renee & Michael
The Rockleigh Country Club · Rockleigh, NJ
May 15, 2009

Renee and Michael first met at The Roxy nightclub in New York City while spending the evening with friends. After being together for six years and falling in love, Renee was thrilled when Michael informally proposed while celebrating their anniversary during a romantic getaway in Mexico. A month later the couple dined at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse in Edgewater, and Michael proposed for a second time with a custom-made, radiant cut, vintage engagement ring from The Diamond Exchange. "I was planning the proposal for a few months. The restaurant has an amazing NYC view, which made it extra romantic," commented Michael.
About a year later, once all of the planning was finalized, it was time for the couple to celebrate their classic and elegantly themed wedding on May 15, 2009. The bride walked down the aisle in an ivory La Sposa Madeira mermaid-style gown at the stunning Cathedral Basilica. It had a sweetheart neckline and was beautifully adorned with scattered beading throughout the bodice and lace intertwined within the skirt. "When I saw her walking down the aisle, she looked gorgeous. It was the perfect dress for her," reminisced Michael. The groom looked sharp in a black Ralph Lauren tuxedo with an ivory shirt and a gold paisley-print vest and tie. The bridesmaids wore tea-length dresses in eggplant purple, while the groomsmen sported black tuxedos, white shirts, black vests, and purple ties in paisley print.

Kerri & Zorz
Raphael Vineyard · Peconic, NY
October 24, 2009

Kerri and Zorz first met by a chance of fate in Melville, New York, on July 26, 2006. Zorz, originally from Montenegro, was visiting his brother in the United States and immediately noticed Kerri when she walked inside Blackstone Steakhouse. Their eyes locked, creating an intimate connection between the two. After spending hours talking, the two hit it off and spent the rest of his trip getting to know one another until he went back to Europe. Shortly after, the two couldn't bear to stay apart, and Zorz took a leap of faith and came back to the United States to be with Kerri. "After speaking with her I felt so comfortable and knew I wanted to marry her," recalled Zorz, who proposed on Kerri's birthday.
About a year later the couple tied the knot on September 13, 2008, at Raphael Vineyard, which complimented their wine theme. The couple fell in love with the facility's breathtaking vineyard, chic and modern rooms, and unbelievable scenery. "It fit our personalities because of our love of wine, but it also made guests feel as if they were in another location," said Kerri.
